The Written City is an exhibition about the influence of politics on a country and its inhabitants.

The Written City displays works by more than twenty (mainly) international artists. The exhibition consists of 3 parts. The first part is dedicated to the political speech. The second part deals with the realization of political decisions and party programmes and the effects on the city or country and its inhabitants. The third part focuses on the reaction of the citizen and of the artist to certain political decisions.

The Written City takes you on a journey through time, displaying works by Greek tragedy writers, propaganda posters for various regimes, video installations and other modern works of art and literature. In doing so, this exhibition clearly illustrates that there are similarities between differing political convictions.
